Cherished Laketrails Memories

I first became a Laketrailer back in the 50’s as a camper. Then I returned in the 60’s as a guide. My three children spent many summers on Oak Island with their dad as the Camp Director. So my heart is full of great memories.

Decades later what I cherish the most are the members of the Laketrails’ family. Just recently I attended a mini-Laketrails reunion at The Women’s Club in Minneapolis. Mikke Wegman Kreuger found out that 3 of her friends all went to Laketrails and made the arrangements. Julie Welle Ditzler, Patti Healy Weber, Mikki and I chatted for 4 hours. Our relationships intertwined. Mikki had never been to Laketrails but her sisters had attended. Julie had stayed with Mikki’s family while attending St. Catherine’s. Patti, Mikki, and I had all attended the College of St. Teresa together. Julie and I grew up together in Bemidji. She and my brother were best friends.
