At Laketrails, some of us are lucky to be part of an amazing staff, working in an incredibly gorgeous area full of rainbows, vibrant sunsets, and surprises called Lake of the Woods.

Laketrails is a beautiful place full of energetic, creative people.  Campers can be pretty goofy, but then so can their guides.  When campers arrive on the island they’re greeted by staff and camper workers wearing crazy costumes.  This usually makes a big impression, especially on first-time campers.

Throughout a camper’s time at Laketrails, they may have their first bear sighting, often of a bear browsing along the shoreline or maybe even swimming from one island to another.  Other wildlife sightings that are common include otters, eagles, deer, and beavers.  One of the truly amazing wildlife phenomena include giant “rafts” of pelicans and cormorants–hundreds of them alternately flying and swimming together.

Days are long and full on trail, but beautiful campsites await at the close of each day.

If a camper exhibits good technical skills as well as a great personality and resilience, they may be given a Wilderness Award, showing that we would like to be lost in the woods with them.

Laketrails is a beautiful place to learn, cook good food, and let loose a little bit.  We’ll be there to make sure everyone is safe and having a good time.  So come join us!  Friends, fun, and good old foolishness awaits you!
